We are what many refer to as D/ser's. This does not mean we are into hurting each other, D/s is not just tieing your partner up and whipping them. Tho yes some do do this, it does not mean we all follow this path. I and my seraphim have a code we follow, she is my slave (this is not the same as being a submissive tho the 2 do relate) she obeys my wishes and gives up complete control in her life to me. I am her Master, her Dominate. I make sure all her needs are met and guide her to better herself. Our lifestyle is one that is commonly refered to as a power exchange. seraphim gives me complete power and control, but she did not do this right away. We took along time getting to the point of her submitting to me. There have been many hours of talking and discussing what each of us wanted and needed in our realtionships. seraphim and I were together for over 7 months before she actually submitted to me and I accepted. Our relationship is based on the foundation of the 3 words those in the community use. Safe, Sane and Consensual. Safe: All actions between the parties involved are always safely performed. Sane: Whatever is agreed upon is done so in a sane and rational manner. Nothing is allowed to occur that is so far fetched as to bring harm in the out come to any party involved. Consensual: The parties involved come into the realtionship willingly and freely. No one is forced into acts they do not wish to perform. seraphim is what would be defined as a natural born submissive, it is her normal state of being to obey, she doesn't know any other way to be. I started out as a submissive, but through my years learned it was not who I was, tho the training I went through I feel made me a Better Dom in the long run. We have both been members of chat for over 5 years and have explored various lifestyles that in some way relate to D/s. By and large D/s in chat is a far cry from what one experiences in real, but it is a foundation for the new comer to learn about who they are. It is not about cyber alone, any Dom/me or sub/slave that comes in looking only for that is not into the lifestyle. Same with subs/slaves that come in looking to be "whipped" or punished all the time. After all, you can't really inflict this on a person sitting miles away on another computer to begin with, and anyone that is seeking just the cyber or to be whipped is not looking for the true values of a D/s relationship. Chat has provided tho, a new means for "scenes" to be performed. A scene is a act between the parties of a sexual nature, usually playing out a fantasy like in example a "rape". Chat allows a safer enviroment for the parties to take fantasies further than they might desire to do in the real world. However one must still respect the mental aspect of this for it can be just as painful and damaging, if not infact more so. As such role playing like Gor for example is not as farfetched as long as again it is consensual and the parties know what they are getting themselves into. I suggest doing alot of reading before anyone decides they want to get into any of the communities in chat. Learn about what you are considering and then find a good tutor to guide you. Do not trust the first person you meet either. Remember there are alot of people that may say they know alot but infact are just seeking a thrill at playing with a novice. Take your time, no one should rush you into anything, after all this is your life not thiers and you should fully enjoy whatever you are getting into.
